Other Kaypro ROMs are: KayPLUS by Microcode, Advent TurboROM by Plu*Perfect and Micro Cornucopia. I have already reported on these three. I use the Advent TurboROM for my Kaypro 10, the KayPLUS in a Kaypro II and the Pro-8+ ROM from Micro C.

I have tested the RoadRunner ROM in my 4-floppy Kaypro II and what should I say, it works flawless. The RoadRunner is comparable to Micro-C's Pro-8+. But ... for the third and fourth floppy drive you need an additional adapter. My redesigned Mirco-C Plus-4 decoder works fine!

I'm not a programmer, but I've already looked at the other ROMs in the HEX editor and I'd like to point out, somewhat flippantly, that a lot of space has been wasted here. There are whole novels in this ROM!

In detail: I can boot my Kaypro II (#034-644) with four half-high floppy drives (SSDD, DSDD, DSDD, DSQD), the RoadRunner ROM, and the Kaypro II CP/M version 2.2 just fine. I can access all four drives with DIR for example, even the D: drive with 80 tracks (DSQD). But there are problems with formatting floppy disks. I only have the formatting program from Micro-C (Pro-8) and not the original program for the RoadRunner ROM. Program and ROM are not compatible.

I also have absolutely no documentation and no software related to the RoadRunner ROM. Especially the disk formatter is absolutely necessary.
