This drive belongs to the so-called F generation and can also provide the HD (high density) mode.

Furthermore, the 3.5 inch drive is integrated into a 5.25 inch frame and has a switch for 1.44M or 720K. This version (letter „N“ ?) may have been intended for a floppy controller that does not support switching on line 2 (DENSITY MODE).

You can use the switch 1.44/720 but you need not, if the floppy controller sends the correct signal on line 2.
